***This post is MY OPINION about walmart, i know lots of people love shopping there. I personally do not...***
I can count on 2 hands how many times i have ventured into Walmart and im going to be honest i pretty much hate it. It's dirty and loud and i always feel like NO one knows where anything is or if they have it in stock or whether or not they even carry the product!Alright so 1st the negatives of shopping at walmart (in my opinion)
-Long check out line
-Almost always out of whatever i went there for
-Have only gotten 1 cashier who knew what he was doing with coupons...
-Crazy busy!
-No one knows where anything is OR if they carry that product
Ok so the
-ONLY store (that i know about) that will give you overage towards your other basket items OR give you CASH back! (yes, i know that sometimes other stores will push a coupon through and you might get a couple cents overage but that is not their coupon policy....)
-you can price match other stores sales here (other stores does this too such as target just without the overage savings) in order to get overage from your coupons (i have not done this here before)
COUPON POLICY
hip2saves walmart shopping guide... http://hip2save.com/store-guides/walmart/
walmarts coupon policy... PRINT IT OUT AND BRING IT! http://walmartstores.com/7655.aspx
Alright so for example. I ordered 20 $1.50/1 breathright coupons that were going to give me .53 overage on each coupon so i would basically have $10.60 to spend on other items that there are no coupons for aka groceries... The only reason i ordered these is because when they 1st came out in newspapers i went to walmart last week and they had TONS of them. i'm talking like over 100 hanging all over the store. So I go in today and there is NOT ONE! I asked 6 different people they all looked at me like I was crazy and said they had no clue what I was talking about... luckily they did have some other things in stock so i did get .84 cents overage so I could explain how this works....
I bought...
Glade Plug-Ins Scented Warmer - $1.38
I also had 3 of the $3/2 Betty Crocker coupon from the 2/5/12 SS
Bought 6 $1.44 frostings giving me .36 overage
I then bought hamburger buns for 1.25
and 1 green bell pepper .48 (were having sloppy joes for dinner YUM)
My total AFTER tax was 1.29... the hamburger buns were 1.25 by themselves so this is a perfect example of how i would LOVE walmart shopping to go in a perfect world...I would love to order coupons and then be able to buy stuff that I could donate and get things I need for dinner or whatever the case may be for free. Yes free.
***I know a mom who walked out of Walmart with 150$ CASH IN HER HAND & everything she had bought that day.... woo woo go cristle!
So point of the story is IF you shop at walmart already I would take advantage of price matching other stores sale items if you can get overage & for those of you who don't shop there go ahead and take a chance IF you want BUT in my case since I don't shop there and i'm making a special trip to go there from my experience it's almost always MORE frustrating to make a special trip to go in and walk around looking for everything on my list and then leaving with 1/3 of it then just going to another store and still getting the items for free just with no overage.
