Walgreens- the most complicated @ first....

This store is not like any of the other stores & I will try to point out major differences in blue.
Walgreens- This store has NO "member only" pricing or any card that you scan before hand.
Coupons- Walgreens coupons are found in their weekly ad & also they have Walgreens Coupon booklets (always located at the front of the store right when you walk in) They change every month and have great coupons that you can "stack" with MF coupons to get great savings & a lot of time FREE stuff! :D
They also have mini coupon booklets throughout the store usually always in the vitamin & medicine area EX) they will have a information booklet on "allergies" and in the informational booklet there will be allergy coupons. *Walgreens coupons DO NOT count toward the 1 store coupon per item rule aka "item to coupon ratio" So the register will NOT beep if you are using more WALGREENS coupons than items you are buying.
Policy- Here is walgreens coupon policy http://www.walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/coupon_policy_main.jsp?_requestid=37856 here is a detailed description of it http://hip2save.com/store-guides/walgreens/
RR (Registar Rewards)- The idea behind the reward system between stores is the same "Buy this product you will get this amount of $ (ECB, RR, Up Rewards) back" the difference is that these are Manufacturer coupons! (Remember CVS & Rite-Aid they are "like cash" and therefore don't effect your coupon to item ratio)
-They print out AFTER your transaction and will say something like "5$ off your next purchase compliments of Colgate- redeemable at walgreens" so people think that they scan as Walgreens coupons but the DON'T.
-However these CAN be "stacked" with Walgreens coupons just as a regular MF coupon can be. These CAN NOT be stacked with another MF since they are in fact MF coupons themselves. (make sense?)
-You then can take the RR & use it on another transaction OR save it for next week. Here is where it gets tricky...
RR Rules- *RR DO NOT "roll" from the same deal onto the same deal again (except for the rare malfunction occasion)-  (At CVS or Rite-Aid if it says limit 2 or more of a deal you can do them in different transactions & use the ECB you received from the 1st on the 2nd to lower your OOP expense (like what i did in my deodorant example on CVS page). That is "rolling" your reward) You can howerever use one RR to help pay for A DIFFERENT prodcut that has a RR as long as it's NOT the same company (Use Colgate RR to help pay for Axe RR)
EX) this week's deal
-St. Joseph Enteric Aspirin 36 ct 81 mg dose $2 = $2 RR
Final cost FREE!
& ALSO This was having a RR
-Pur-Absorb Iron Supplement 28 packets $10 = $10 RR
Final cost FREE
So you can buy the Aspirin in 1st transaction- pay the 2$ OOP & then in your 2nd transaction buy the Supplements and use the 2RR you received after your 1st to make your OOP total 8$
#2- They can't be grouped together all at once (At CVS or Rite-Aid if it says limit 2 of a deal you can do both deals in the same transaction & still get back BOTH sets of ECB or Up-Rewards) EX if you want to buy 2 of the Aspirin, in order to get back (2) 2$RR- total of 4$RR you HAVE to do 2 transactions. IF you buy 2 of the Aspirin in 1 transaction you will ONLY get back (1) 2$RR.
#3- Like I said earlier, this is a MF coupon so in order to use it on your transaction total you need to make sure that you have 1 item that does NOT have a MF coupon "attached" (when a coupon is paired with an item) to it. This is where "filler" (either an item you need but have no coupon OR a SUPER cheap item that you buy in order to get your coupon to item ratio) items come in.
EX) Pretend you already bought the Supplement packets in your 1st transaction & those 10$RR are burning a hole in your pocket & you remember you want your favorite deodorant ;) that is having this deal Caress or Lever 200 bar soap 6 or 8 pk, Dove or Degree Clinical deodorant 1.7 oz, bar soap 6 pk, Dove lotion 13.5 oz, body wash 18 or 24 oz, Pond’s towelettes 30 pk or cream 9.5 or 10.1 oz 3/$18 = $6 RR
Buy 3 Dove Clinical deodorant 1.7 oz 3/18
Use 3 $2/1 coupons found in the 1/29
Pay $12
Get back a $6 RR -Now this is already a good deal BUT if you were to use another 10$ you could make this deal a MM (Money Maker) BUT you can't because you are already using 3 MF coupons and since you are buying 3 items you are at your coupon to item ratio.... Filler item to the rescue, I usually walk around the store & look at the clearance section (in the back of my store on an end-cap) or grab the boys a treat the point is to get something that you do NOT have a MF coupon for. Last week they still had christmas stuff & my favorite christmas votive candles on clearance for .10 each so i bought some of those. So your New transaction would look like
Buy 3 Dove Clinical deodorant 1.7 oz 3/18
Use 3 $2/1 coupons found in the 1/29
4 Votive Candles .10 each =.40
Total 12.40
Use 10$RR (from 1st transaction)
PAY 2.40 (+tax) Get back a $6 RR!!!! :D
Positives-There are NO "limits" to how many of something you can buy per RR deal! If you want to buy 10 Aspirin's you can! You will have to just do 10 different transactions to get all your RR!
-Random things print out along with your RR (called Catalinas) that are awesome. I keep getting 19.99 oil changes Or one time i got a few FREE Breath Right Stirpes up to 6.79. Who doesn't like FREE stuff? :D
-You can do as many of a deal as you want. Rite-Aid & CVS usually have a limit of 1 for their deals so it's nice to be able to get 2 or 3 of something that you need instead of only 1.
How I shop here & Tips- Check & Double check your coupon to item ratio when using RR. I like to simply count all my items and then count my MF coupons (Wags coupons dont' count toward ratio) and if i have more MF coupons then items then I 1) did something wrong or 2) forgot my filler item. This trick has saved me VERY stressful checkouts :)
-Don't be afraid to ask for the manager. Both Walgreen's I shop at are VERY coupon helpful & if my RR doesn't print or a coupon isn't going through even though it should the cashier usually calls the manager over and they clear it up right away.
-Go to the cosmetic counter! If i am doing multiple transactions I just ask for someone to ring me up at cosmetic counter that is basically like saying "I'm a cuoponer and i'm doing multiple transactions & I want someone experienced to help me" without actually saying any of that! :D
-Make sure you get all of your RR!!!! Keep track ahead of time how many you will be getting back (sometimes i get back 4 in a transaction) So that way you don't leave the store and then realize later that you left those precious coupons back at the store!

*Rain-Checks- You can get a rain check for the sale price if they don't have it in stock but NOT for the catilina. Walgreens does not have any control of their catalina machines (unlike CVS & ECB)  & they are only good for 30 days.
